After a day of observing classes, meeting the students, and getting to know their way around KL, the student teachers were treated to a special dinner at the famous Concorde Hotel.

The Concorde is well known in KL.  It’s in the heart of the city–in a bustling section of KL known as the golden triangle.  It’s only a 10-minute walk from Petronas Twin Towers.

For this event, Dato’ invited many of the Sri Utama administrative staff, including her daughters.  Kate and Becky were there, too, as were Matt (another Wilkes grad) and Sarah, who are both teaching in the Sri Utama School at Johor Bahru.

The band seemed ready for Dato’s requests, and we definitely got the idea that they were accustomed to things livening up when Dato’ Fawziah comes to the Concorde!

When the band took a break, we each presented our gifts to Dato’ and took the opportunity to thank her for bringing us here to this wonderful study abroad experience.
